Sketches

I am a member of the Vancouver Urban Sketchers. I sketch every day when I travel, drawing the places that I visit helps me to remember each experience more vividly. I have begun to keep a nature journal, so that I can really learn about my natural surroundings, this added level of scientific observation helps me to slow down even more, enriching an already delightful pastime!

Paintings

I love painting with watercolour, mastering the techniques that you need to merely dance with this medium , let alone control it, is a challenging but delightful journey. As I say to my students, I might have painted a subject thirty times but when I wet that paper and start dropping in the paint I feel giddy with excitement!

Prints

In 2008 I had my first painting printed on fabric. Textile designs and patterns fascinate me. I began doing monotype printing in 2015 and am learning more and more about these “painterly prints”. When I joined Hambleton Fine Art services to produce mixed media pieces I found that the pieces I created resembled prints. This section is all about prints, patterns and repeated images.
