About

Elizabeth graduated from the Art in Merchandising Program at Langara College in Vancouver, Artist paintingCanada in 1981. She worked for 10 years as a Visual Presentation Artist (window display) for several large Canadian and American retailers. In 1991 she returned to Langara to teach Visual Presentation full time in the same program she had graduated from 10 years before. After 7 years of teaching at the college level, she moved with her husband and 3 children to California where she took her first watercolour class.

Shortly after her return to Vancouver in 2001 she signed up for more watercolour classes and after 6 years was asked to replace her teacher who was retiring. Elizabeth has taught watercolour for the District of West Vancouver for 7 years.

During this time she has also: exhibited her paintings in galleries, created a line of cards, designed 2 tea towels for creativeteatowels.com, designed a collection of fabrics for Exclusively Quilters in New York, had her paintings made available as reproductions through Hambleton Fine Art Services, taught watercolour workshops and designed table centrepieces for The Nature Trust. Most  recently Elizabeth has begun a collaboration with Vida (shopvida.com) an online apparel and accessories shop. Her paintings are featured on scarves and t-shirts and dresses. Elizabeth is an enthusiastic Urban Sketcher and is pretty much enthusiastic about art in general!

“Enthusiastic, endlessly imaginative and relentlessly positive sums up my
experience with Elizabeth since signing up for her watercolour classes five
years ago. Add to that her excellent preparation for each class. Without
Elizabeth as my teacher, I would have abandoned my brushes long ago.”

– Heather Kent, watercolour student
